Green Hills Complete Renovation 53 photos

This couple purchased a lovely home in the heart of a beautiful, gated community in Nashville, however, the home was dated and needed a complete renovation to address the design and functionality challenges, as well as, the clients desired to transform this relatively traditional home into a more rustic and casual styling.

Pictures truly cannot capture this 15 room transformation, however, hopefully the before photos at the end, will display this major overhaul.

Rooms addressed: Foyer, dining, living room, family room, kitchen, breakfast nook, vestibule, 2 powder rooms, 1 guest bath, kids J&J bath, master bedroom, master bath, landing area into the built in theater, as well as, all flooring, lighting & paint, some footprint modifications and the vast majority of new furnishings/decor.

The entrance light fixture received a facelift with a larger scaled, rustic fixture.

This entry area opens into the dining & living room, which was originally more compartmentalized. By opening the wall in the hallway (adjacent to the kitchen & dining room), more light is now able to disperse into this space, resulting in a brighter dining/entry space.

New hardwoods, paint, light fixtures and furnishings/decor really helped make this space cohesive.

Different angle. Look at the details on the area rug.... we just love it!

As you transition from the formal living room to the kitchen, breakfast nook and family room, you can appreciate this grand, open and wide open space.

Again, all new hardwoods, paint, light fixtures, furnishings, and decor, plus custom built in's and newly added beams.

We just love this transformation.

Here's a close up...we just want to start a fire, kick back and drink some bourbon while watching our favorite show... don't you???

This homeowner desired the family room (adjacent to the kitchen) to be the casual space to kick back and relax in, while still embellished enough to look stylish.

By selecting mixed textures of leather, linen, distressed woods, and metals, USI was able to create this rustic, yet, inviting space.

Flanking the fireplace with floating shelves and modified built ins, adding a ceiling beams, and a new mantle really transformed this once traditional space to something much more casual and tuscan.

This second entry/vestibule to the home, was originally just an open hallway. By designing and incorporating a customized cubby system for each family member, USI was able to create a space that encompassed upper bins for storage, lower slots for shoes, a dedicated backpack/bag designation, a phone charging station tucked away in the drawers & a chalk/cork message board for the family to communicate on.

This now highly efficient location will instigate a organized lifestyle, while creating usable space.

This is the landing area up the stairs in to the built in home theater. Originally there was a mini kitchen out here and the space was not utilized. By relocating the mini-kitchen in to the theater, USI was able to use this space an extended space for entertaining... for those ladies or kids who may not watch to the game, as well as, a place for the kids to chill or do home work.

Green Hills Complete Renovation

USI was able to place the mini-kitchen behind the theater seating to allow for popcorn and drinks for easy accessibility. Custom leather reclinable seating, all new flooring really changed the feel of this space. ( Look at the before photos to really appreciate the change over).

J&J bath for kids. Originally this space had no tile on the walls and floor was ceramic 8x10. By adding just a few extra details, USI was able to give this space an updated look.

This homeowner desired a clean, crisp yet, relaxing master suite with less clutter. By selecting neutral tones, a casual, yet, stylish light fixture and antique, grey, oak finished on the furnishings, USI was able to create a "Master" piece .

Another angle. Originally, there was double doors entering into the master bath. By slightly reconfiguring the master bath footprint, a squared off wall resulted in the master bedroom allowing for these gorgeous barn doors as an focal point and entry into the master bath.

Pictures can not really encompass the beauty of this master bath. There is so much detail to take in: from the oxidized and distressed backsplash, to the rustic light fixtures, to the custom cabinets, to early 1920's repurposed closet door, tot he therapeutic pebbled shower pan.... It is just stunning.

Another angle... cabinets only.

A pedestal tub to a "modified open-concept" double shower with a center rain shower, to the therapeutic pebbled floor, custom niches and bench seating... this master bath has it all.

This is the spare/guest bath upstairs that serves the theater guests, as well as, any overnight guests in the spare bedroom. Keeping with the rustic theme, USI combined wood, metal and porcelain elements to refresh this space.
